PTE

PTE is an English language test that evaluates your ability to communicate effectively in English. It is known for its computer-based format and integrated skills approach, which assesses listening, reading, speaking, and writing in an integrated manner.

• PTE Academic: Designed for students applying to study at universities and colleges, particularly in English-speaking countries. It focuses on academic English and assesses your ability to understand and use English in an academic context.
• PTE General: This test measures your ability to use English in everyday situations and is commonly used for personal and professional purposes. Note that PTE General is less commonly used for immigration and academic admissions.

The PTE Academic test consists of three main parts:

•  Speaking and Writing (77-93 minutes): This section assesses your ability to communicate effectively and produce written text. Tasks include speaking into a microphone, writing essays, and summarizing written texts.
• Reading (32-41 minutes): This section evaluates your ability to understand written English. Tasks include reading comprehension, multiple-choice questions, and re-ordering paragraphs.
• Listening (45-57 minutes): This section tests your ability to understand spoken English. Tasks include listening to recordings and answering questions based on them, summarizing spoken texts, and filling in missing words.

PTE Academic is scored on a scale of 10 to 90. The scores are reported in the form of an overall score and individual scores for each section. The scoring system is designed to reflect your English language proficiency accurately and provide a clear picture of your strengths and areas for improvement.

The total test duration is approximately 3 hours. The Speaking and Writing sections are completed in one sitting, followed by the Reading and Listening sections.

PTE Academic is offered at test centers all around Nepal. The test is available on multiple dates throughout the year, and you can choose a convenient date and location for your test.
